Neighbours from Wellington Place and Draper Street joined members of the GDNA at Rodney's to celebrate the season and the past year's collective efforts. Councillor Joe Cressy stopped by with greetings. Thanks again Bronwen for your warm hospitality and to Duncan for your great service. Here's to us and more good things for 2017!
Here we are fighting to protect our heritage buildings and what does the province do? MPAC (Municipal Property Assessment Corporation) taxes these properties to the hilt. Read this Toronto Star article to learn more. Councillor Cressy protests. Read his posting here.
Fort York might not exist within the boundaries of the GDNA but its presence so close by has shaped the heritage and development of our neighbourhood. Below is a link to the December quarterly issue but you might wish to subscribe in order to enjoy future articles about this historical part of the city.

I love this particular figure ... look where we live ... hold onto your hats! Maria Crawford, out-going Executive Director of Eva's Phoenix addressed a packed crowd today on "Main Street" at the opening of the new home for 50 transitional youth located at Richmond & Brant. Mayor Tory helped cut the ribbon to officially open the facility, a bright and welcoming place to call home. Kim Latreille is Print Shop Manager at Eva's. What a great space to showcase the array of products available through the press. You can reach her at [email protected] to discuss your printing needs. Welcome to the neighbourhood, Kim!
Jiv Parasram and Andy McKim were on hand yesterday at Word on the Street down at Harbourfront to promote another great season of theatre from Theatre Passe Murielle. Visit their site for full details. Factory Theatre on Bathurst at Adelaide has a great list of plays to entice residents and theatre-goers. Be sure to check out their "Toonie Tuesday" to stretch your culture budget and provide support to both neighbourhood theatres.
